It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid
At christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of joy!
Throw your arms around the world at christmas time
But say a prayer - pray for the other ones
At christmas time, it's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dreaded fear
Where the only water flowing is a bitter sting of tears
And the christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
Do they know it's christmas time at all?

thanks for the poem. i enjoyed it.
just curious, when you refer to "they" do you mean the unbelievers or those with less fortunate circumstances?
Hmmm, I think both. You recognize the song, right? Couldn't figure out how to upload the song. Not my work. The lyrics are timeless, though. Just something to keep in our minds...
ah yes. now i remember. a band-aid song by bob geldorf about the starving children of ethiopia. man, that's 25 years ago, at least.
you should have added the refrain: feed the world, feed the world, feed the world, let them know it's christmas time again!
