1st Annual Gladstone Pool Tournament

Rumors have been circulating that the Gladstone Mens Social Club has been up to no good. Heavy drinking, loose women, raucous behavior hang on the local grapevine. But as you will note from the photos below, nothing but good clean fun.

Admittedly, that look on Mr. Santoro, the father of Jesus, does appear somewhat diabolical. However, after careful scrutiny, it was established that Mr. Santoro's wife had simply fed him some bad fish, probably in an effort to get him to come home early.

isabella's career is soaring so this might be your last chance to see her up close and in person. bring your cameras. the santoro family is charging only a small fee to snap isabella's pic. 

CSA in Peapack

Found a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that's trying to get started in Peapack... Morangie Farm. We've always wanted to give it a shot but couldn't find one local enough to try. This will be the CSA's first year, and from what they've told me, they need enough interest/members to get started in 2008. They have 10 - 15 full shares right now, and looking to get close to 50.

If you've never heard of a CSA, think of a vegetable subscription. Pay $$ now to get vegetables, fruit, and other locally grown produce next year, produced/boxed for you every week. $600 for a full share (A lot of lettuce & tomatoes... enough for 4 - 5 people) and $350 for a half share. Program would run from June to Oct. Lots of variety... lettuce, tomatoes, herbs, corn, squash, etc. Buy yourself a few cookbooks and have fun. And, you're committing to a local farmer, and are subject to the same risks & rewards he is. Good weather... good harvest. Bad weather... bad harvest. I'm assuming there's no rain refunds.

I have no connection whatsoever, financial or otherwise, but saw an ad and got interested. If nothing else, he needs more members for the CSA to get started. I've traded e-mails with the guy running the CSA, and it seems he's waiting for a crowd before setting details. But in general, you're not required to volunteer (Many CSA's require this), and can pick up your box of goodies at the farm on Willow Ave. Pickup time will be flexible, and will accommodate working hours.
