Morangie Farm CSA Update

Well, just heard from the gentleman managing the Peapack CSA I mentioned earlier, and he is moving forward with the program. He has 20 - 30 families who are signed up, and he's raring to go. He's also planning a farm stand, and perhaps selling wholesale as well. So, if a weekly deliver of veggies isn't your bag, you can at least shop local.

So, in case you were interested, he's still accepting members. Here's his proposed list of veggies to pique your interest...
  • 2 types of early peas, sugar and snap
  • 12 varieties of pepper (Green, orange and red bells, 3 hot types, frying, round, and sweet banana
  • 5 different potatoes (Yukon, red, 2 fingerling types and one deep blue variety)
  • 2 pumpkins (jack-o-lantern and pie types)
  • assorted small decorative gourds
  • 2 radish
  • 3 zucchini
  • 3 fall squash (butternut, spaghetti and acorn)
  • 4 types of sweet corn (white and bi-color)
  • 2 onions (red and yellow)
  • 4 lettuce (romaine, ice burg, green and red Boston)
  • 2 types of leeks
  • 3 eggplant
  • 2 cucumbers (slicing and pickling types)
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cabbage (red and green)
  • 2 broccoli
  • 4 beans (lima beans, fava beans, green and yellow wax beans)
  • 9 types of tomatoes (big beef, 2 commercial medium sized, 3 heirloom types, 1 plum, 1 red cherry, 1 gold cherry)
  • 2 watermelon types (red seedless and yellow)
  • Bok Choi (same thing as Pok Choy)
  • Arugula
  • Swiss Chard
  • Kale
  • And more herbs than you can count

If nothing else, Sama and I will have lots of recipes to try on all of you.

We're also signing up for 1/2 share - maybe it will excite the kids to eat more vegetables... I hope!

Bill - Nice pic!

Contact Andrew Marchese @ 973.868.3137

Check out the website regarding "organic-ness," the answer is a little nuanced.

Tried to contact this guy, but did not get a reply. Don't mean to be rude and intrusive, but...I wanted to find out how much it is for 1/2 a share?

Thanks
